“A creative life is any life where one consistently, routinely, habitually and constantly chooses the path of curiosity over the path of fear.”
Elizabeth Gilbert
As a child, I would draw for hours. Usually horses and always in black and white.
I used drawing as a way to control my environment and to calm my mind. I did not draw because I was “creative”. Because I never thought of myself as an artist.
I’ve now been a professional artist for over thirty years.
I also freely call myself an artist but it’s not because I paint. It’s a way of life. A way of viewing myself, the world and the interactions between the two.
As a coach. I use my experience as an artist, a certified Strengths Coach, a student of Positive Psychology, and the work of both Stuart and Brené Brown, to help my clients get curious about where they are and what are the best paths for them to cultivate a more creative daily life. My coaching sessions are focused on creating new habits, a new way to see ourselves, and radical self-acceptance through both conversation and art-based play.
